Are we physically able to work in the client’s Quickbooks file or just advising client on what to do?
Yes - you work in the clients file with them and also educate them on ongoing work that they will make that may be outside of our scope of work.
Are we assigned set clients we work with?
This really depends on what group within QuickBooks Live (QBL) that you are a part of. We have several different groups within QBL, some are an 'on-demand' environment, where you will work on a call to call and aren't assigned clients. Another is where you will work with a specific group of clients during their first few weeks/months with QBL and then the clients are passed to their "on going" bookkeeper on a permanent basis.
When we are customer facing (on video), what is the dress code?
Dress code is business casual. Button down shirt etc., solid color, no branding or logos.
Are we trained on the laws of other states to be answering questions?
We maintain a Standards database that will contain any relevant information that may be of importance. But, with most regulations and laws we refer to the governing bodies for the most up to date information.
How is my success measured?
Success is measured in a variety of ways. There are metric driven goals that are measured based on performance against a baseline and others within your team/organization. Other factors, such as special projects, personal goals, and individual items may factor into the performance as needed.
How are clients assigned?
Clients are assigned based on schedule, availability, and industry. We try to pair customers and bookkeepers based on experience and schedule availability whenever possible.
Do you work with the same customers each month and then add additional as time permits?
Depending on the group that you are working with within QuickBooks Live, you may work with the same customer month after month. Additional customers are added based on the workload, demand, and capacity of the bookkeeper and team.
Are you constantly working with customers live or do you occasionally work on your own without a customer being online?
You will be working with customers live, interacting with your team and doing work for our customers while not on video with them as well. So yes, you will not be on live video with clients the entire shift.
Do associate bookkeepers need to face clients?
Not necessarily, you may be only in the books.
Is there any opportunity to focus on payroll?
No we actually do not help with payroll. All we do is get a payroll report and enter a journal entry to acknowledge where the expenses went to.
Are you trained on how to handle tech issues that may come up while live with a client?
Yes we guide you along the way, as well as with how to handle situations with tech issues.
Is it my responsibility to fill my day with clients? Am I expected to grow my client base?
No. These are intuiting clients that call in because they want to utilize our cleanup or maintenance services and have signed up for Quickbooks live.
Is Slack also used in QBLive?
Yes, that is our form of communication.
How many clients do you normally meet?
It depends on how many hours per week you work. Generally speaking, though, it could be between 5-30.
Is it actually bookkeeping or just answering questions?
It’s both actual bookkeeping and helping the customer with their questions – which is quite rewarding!
Do we need to promote and sell some of the Intuit products?
No, we don't ask our Bookkeepers to sell our offerings.

Is there a timeframe when the quickBooks Certification must be completed?
Yes, the QBO ProAdvisor certification needs to be completed prior to your hire date.
How can I become QuickBooks certified before being hired?

Will I be considered for the position while I gain my certification?
If you have the other required experience you can still go through the process.
How long is the training?
Training is typically over the course of two-weeks. There is a blend of self-led training, live (instructor led) and some role play within your team. Additional training may be needed once assigned to a team, but two weeks is the typical training period.
Is training paid?
Yes, the training is paid time.
How is the training paid? Payment by hour?
The training is paid. You are paid hourly for the hours you are working/doing attending/completing training sessions.
Which do you want first, the interview or the certification?
It is up to you, but I recommend having your QBO ProAdvisor Certification beforehand as it can only help to set you up for success.
Does the Certification Training count as CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits for CPA's?
No it does not, but intuit does offer resources in order to get CPE credits.
I have previous QBO experience, but no longer have a current log in, can I still go through the certification?
If you would like to go through the certification, you can sign up for a QuickBooks Online Accountant account. From there, you would be able to take the certification. And best of all - it's free!
How long does it take to obtain a QuickBooks Certification?
Approximately 8 hours.

If I have the QuickBooks experience, but do not have the 3 years experience of managing a client’s books, should I stop pursuing this position?
If you have close to the 3 years of bookkeeping experience, I would recommend that you still pursue the opportunity. A recruiter can provide additional information and help guide you through the process.
I have worked for Intuit before. Will this qualify me?
You will still need to go through the interview process and meet the minimum requirements.
I understand the professional experience with QuickBooks Online is a requirement. I have 8 years using QuickBooks maintaining small businesses including payroll; but not online. Is this still an opportunity that I can pursue?
We do require at least 1 year of professional experience with QBO as this role exclusively supports our QBO customers.
I do not have the one year minimum QuickBooks online experience. Should I even bother to apply?
If you have close to 1 year of QBO professional experience, I would recommend applying.
How many hours per week do we have to be on the line?
It's based on what work schedule you select. The minimum hours you can work is 20 hours per week and the max is 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
What are the requirements for the role?
We require 3 years of bookkeeping experience, 1 year of professional QBO experience and an active QBO ProAdvisor Certification.
If I don't have a bachelors or a CPA will that affect my ability to become employed?
No, if you have the required experience (1 year of QBO professional experience and 3 years of bookkeeping) that is fine.
Can you still keep your own company while working in this role?
Yes, Absolutely! We encourage it and the QuickBooks Live Bookkeeper role can help you in your own bookkeeping practice as you will be exposed to multiple industries, states, and scenarios from a bookkeeping perspective, helping to keep your QBO experience and bookkeeping skill sharp!

Is there an approved list of Monitors that will work with the Laptop - or any special requirements?
Generally, the typical plug & play monitor will work. The ports are USB or HDMI.
Do you supply the 2nd monitor or do we need to obtain it on our own?
You can purchase one and we'll walk you through connecting it.

I live in a rural area and the only internet connection possible is via satellite. Would that be a problem?
Unfortunately, you cannot work via satellite...you have to be able to hardwire.
Can I use my own laptop? Or do I need to use the PC you provide?
Intuit will provide a laptop, along with a video camera, and headset.
Is there a cost for all the equipment?
No cost to you!
Can you have a wireless connection or does it have to be hard wired?
It must be hard-wired; wireless is not allowed for security reasons.
Is there an internal tech support system for help with technical difficulties, laptop crashes, etc?
Absolutely, we have our internal IT department for tech assistance.
Do I need a separate internet connection for Intuit?
No.

Is a landline required?
You are required to be hard-wired for internet (wifi is not allowed). But you are not required to have a ‘landline’ phone connection. All calls and related activity are performed via the laptop/headset/camera (provided to you) via the hard-wired internet connection.
Is this completely virtual, or will there be a form of call center environment?
This role is completely remote and work from home.

I'd really like to work as a bookkeeper on a part time basis. Is it possible for me to work on weekends?
We do not currently offer schedules for the weekend hours.
Are you obligated to work during Intuit office hours?
Yes... you would need to work between the QBO regular business hours of 6 am - 6 pm PT M - F. We have different schedules you can choose from.
Are there minimum hours required?
The minimum hours required is 20 hours per week and 4 hours per shift (consecutive hours).
Do you hire full time?
We offer full time hours; you can work up to 40 hours.
Since the hours are 6 am to 6 pm Pacific, if I live in VA can I work other hours outside my time zone?
If you are on EST in VA, you would work between 9 am - 9 pm EST.
Do we get to work overtime during tax season?
These roles are year round and not seasonal since they are supporting QuickBooks Live and not TurboTax Live.

What will I be paid?
We have competitive pay based on your geographic location and your relevant background and experience.
What type of vacation plan does intuit offer?
No PTO for these part time roles. All time off is unpaid.
Is there a stipend reimbursement for internet/phone usage?
We do not reimburse for internet.

How much of an increase is it if you are bilingual?
It is typically $1 - 2 more than the regular pay rates.
Is the pay hourly? What is the minimum and maximum pay schedule?
These are W2 hourly roles. Your recruiter can share more information on pay rate/hours. Pay rates are related to your state location and relevant background/experience/interview performance.
Can I work in this role in Alaska or Hawaii?
Yes.
Do you hear if you will not get an offer as well after you have done the HireVue interview?
Yes, we will disposition all candidates who we do not proceed with or who don't pass the HireVue interview.
Can I work if I do not know much English?
We do require that you speak English Fluently.
What are the next steps once the interview is completed?
After you complete the initial phone screen your recruiter will move you along to the HireVue interview if you meet the requirements/qualifications of the role. The HireVue interview is the last step in the "interview process."
What determines which exact position you are given?
Your background/experience w/ bookkeeping and QBO as well as your interview performance.
Is the starting pay negotiable based on skill set and education?
Yes, but not guaranteed…it would be on a case by case basis as our pay rates are already competitive for this type of opportunity. We include benefits, Fiscal year end bonus, and provide you with the equipment needed for these opportunities.

Do you have any suggestions or tips on the video questions interview?
We do provide an email with helpful info/FAQs prior to a candidate completing the HireVue interview. Your recruiter can also provide some helpful tips as well.
What is the average time to complete the recruitment/hire process?
On average the recruitment and hiring process takes about a week to get everything done but it really depends on how fast the candidate can complete each hiring step.
Are there different levels of positions that one can be hired at (e.g. accountant, senior accountant, etc), or is everyone hired as a bookkeeper?
We have different roles based on QBO experience: 1-2 years experience will be recommended for our Associate Bookkeeper role and 5+ years will be recommended for our Sr. Expert Bookkeeper Role.
Do we have to be QuickBooks certified before we can speak with a recruiter?
No, we can get you through the process but with an understanding that you need your QBO Certification before your start date.
Are there still only 3 "tries" to pass the certification?
Yes
Typically, how long after the official offer do employees start training?
Depends on when you got an offer and when the next start date is available.
Can I have my own bookkeeping business and be a Bookkeeper at Intuit?
Yes, you definitely can!
Can you transfer from TTLive seasonal to QBO Live?
Yes, you can but it would need to be after your current tax season ends.
How long has the Bookkeeper Live job been around?
QuickBooks Live launched in August of 2019
Is this a W2 position or a 1099?
W2/hourly
If you live in the USA and are on vacation in another country, can you still work?
No. It is forbidden for the computers to leave the country; they will immediately be disabled when you try to connect.
Can you work internationally if you live out of the country for 12 weeks a year?
You must be located within the USA for this role at all times.
Is Spanish the only language needed for bilingual work?
Yes, since we have a large Spanish speaking customer base, we do have a bilingual Spanish speaking bookkeeper role.
Is Intuit a great place to work if you are a military spouse?
Yes! Especially if you have to relocate to another state every so often because you can work in this role from anywhere within the USA.
